The online registration and payment process for the 9th ISTFP Biennial Conference in Vienna, June 4-6th, 2026, is administered by TFP-Austria, Austrian Society for Transference Focused Psychotherapy (Österreichische Gesellschaft für Übertragungsfokussierte Psychotherapie) in Vienna, Austria.

Refund Policy
Requests for refund, due to cancellation by the participant, made in writing to ISTFP before May 15, 2026 are granted (EUR 100 administrative costs). No refund is granted after May 15, 2026.

Force Majeure
If the event that circumstances beyond the organizers´ control make it impossible to hold the conference as planned (e.g., travel restrictions, natural disasters), the organizers reserve the right to modify, postpone or cancel the event. We kindly ask for your understanding that, in such cases, refund can only be issued based on the actual costs incurred.

Transport Recommandations Airport Schwechat to Vienna

The public transport in Vienna is really great. At vending machines of all major stations of busses, tramways and subways, tickets for single trips, 1 day and 7 day tickets can be obtained or via the offical city transport app.

The Transport from Airport Schwechat to Vienna happens by Taxi, Uber or Train. Uber is slightly more affordable than Taxi.

City Airport Train (CAT)
This train operates exclusively between Wien Mitte and the airport. It was designed as a high-speed connection and was implemented a few years ago. The carriages are equipped with modern flat screens, and there is ample space for luggage. Certain airlines also offer the option of checking in when boarding the CAT and dropping off luggage at Wien Mitte. A single journey costs €14.90, the travel time is 16 minutes, and trains run every 30 minutes.

Bus
The Vienna Airport Lines connect the airport with major transport hubs (Westbahnhof, Rathaus, Schwedenplatz, Kagran) – €11. Passengers can choose to travel to Wien Mitte, Rathaus, or Wien West; these stations are directly connected to the subway and other public transport services of the federal capital. Taxi
Taxis provide direct transport from one location to another. Vienna taxi dispatch centers (31300, 40100, and 60160) offer an airport service at a fixed price of €37 when booked in advance. If you take a taxi directly at the airport or in Vienna, the fare is calculated based on travel time and distance (taximeter), which can result in costs of approximately €40–50.

Hotel Recommendations

Vienna is a wonderful historic city with a high tourist turnover. The summer season starts in June and hotels do not easily provide contingents for hundred of guests without a fixed cancellation fee. We recommend to book your hotel early. There are numerous possibilities, as always, hotels more distant from the center might be fine and the public transportation is reliable and fast. Some more distant hotels on the map may be well connected to the Subway line U3 or U2 which may still bring you to the congress venue (U3 Herrengasse or U2 Schottentor) within 15 minutes (trains running every 5 minutes).
